Built in 1974 at the Hong Kong shipyard, this GB 48 MY is the No. 62 of a series of 64 units. In 1975, American Marine stopped building wood and moved to Singapore to build only fiberglass boats, the cost of teak hulls no longer making it possible to ensure the perenniality of the shipyard.

"ANCETILE" is the contraction of the first names of the three children of the first owner, a Spanish businessman who lived in the Philippines. Based at the Manila Yacht Club, the boat was kept for a very long time by its sailor, according to the notes of a logbook dated 1982. There is a track of the boat in Spain in the 90s, then the identity of a new Spanish owner at the beginning of 2000 who undertook major renovations of structures and works. The last owner, a German, kept the boat for five years without making any changes.

Since 2011, ANCETILE has been the subject of a very important renovation program in order to allow, in all peace and quiet, to make the tour of the Mediterranean over several years : more ...

This boat, heavy (32 tons), with a semi-displacement hull allows to navigate safely even in a formed sea. The low consumption and its "havy duty" engines without electronics are reassuring elements for long crossings.

The origins of the yard

American Marine Ltd

It was in Hong Kong, in Junk Bay, that the brand was established in the years 1962.
